Scott is the principal of Scott Nicoll Law Corporation. Scott is a director at Panorama Law Group, in Surrey, BC. 

Scott graduated from St. George’s School in Vancouver (1982), from Queen’s University with his B.A. (Hons)(1986), from the University of British Columbia with his M.A.(1988) and from the University of Victoria with his LL.B(1993).  

Scott worked in Toronto, ON before law school as the Legislative Assistant to the Ontario Minister of Labour and the Ontario Minister of Consumer and Commercial Relations, from 1988 to 1991.  He left that position to attend the University of Victoria Faculty of Law.  

Scott was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1994 after graduating from the University of Victoria in 1993.  Scott has always practiced as a litigator in the areas of administrative law (primarily professional discipline defence) on behalf of healthcare professionals, commercial litigation on behalf of corporate clients and indigenous law on behalf of bands and tribal councils.  He represents healthcare professionals and businesses of all sizes, non-profit societies, indigenous clients and individuals.  He has represented clients at all levels of court and various administrative tribunals in British Columbia.  One of his more notable cases was his successful representation of one-hundred victims of the Rashida Samji “Ponzi” scheme, the largest “Ponzi” scheme in BC history.  Scott has also likely represented more Registered Massage Therapists in professional discipline cases than any other lawyer to date in British Columbia.

Scott currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Food Banks BC and Vice-Chair of the Surrey Urban Mission Society (“SUMS”).  Food Banks BC is the provincial umbrella association of more than one-hundred food banks in BC.  SUMS is currently the largest operator of shelter beds for the homeless in the Fraser Valley and a key partner of BC Housing in providing shelter relief to the homeless in the South Fraser region.  Scott was also a member of the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Board of Governors for more than six years, the last two as Board Chair.  Scott has significant experience in non-profit board governance, both having advised various boards as legal counsel and having served on three boards for significant periods of time.  

Scott is widowed, has three adult children and lives in Surrey, BC.
